I have had a tickly, dry cough as a previous side effect of a medication. If you read the patient information leaflet, it should give you a list of the possible side effects that can take place. If it’s bothersome and doesn’t pass after some time, check in with your GP for an alternative.

All the best.

I had a dry tickley cough years ago it was very annoying, I found out that it was my blood pressure medication, the Dr changed it and I was okay then.

This is a common side effect of Ramipril an ACE inhibitor prescribed for high blood pressure. There are alternatives, ask you GP to change it. Best wishes.

Losartan potassium is usually prescribed if the Ramipril cough is a nuisance.

Make sure it's not something else like acid reflux before requesting a change.

I’d been on Ramipril for a long time before I persuaded my GP to change it. I eventually changed to an ARB, Candesartan, and had no problems after that. But you are right Keepmewell should make sure there is not another cause.

I had a tickly cough when put on Ramapril. Mostly disappeared in a few weeks.

I had this when I first went on Entresto and my HF nurse said it's very common. It disappeared after a few weeks.
