Doxazosin to replace Candestarten immediately continue with Bisoprolol ?

I had a test for growths, benign, on both adrenal glands. This blood test was done when I was taking candestarten and Bisoprolol, blood pressure lowering tablets, which can apparently interfere with the results.

My doctor received a letter from the consultant, with the above results. Recommending to repeat these tests after switching the current tablets to Doxazosin.

I received a copy of this letter, plus on the reverse of this letter, paper saving obviously, letter to me personally, saying continue with current blood pressure lowering medication until telephone appointment, 1st August, with consultant, and no action is required in the meantime.

Yesterday the doctor immediately changed me to Doxazosin from Candestartan, but kept me on Bisoprolol.

I am really puzzled as to what to do - query the doctors recommendation, or verify above with consultant.

All depends who you can get to speak to.

I used to believe all I was told, now I double check. I am 80 years old is this down to life’s experiences.

It seems that the doctor has actioned what the consultant wrote in the letter therefore, it maybe best to query this with the consultant as I’m doubtful the GP will know as much as them regarding the switch.

Are you now on Bisoprolol and Doxazosin?

Thank you for your comments. Yes on Bisoprolol and Doxazosin. Have spoken to consultant thank you, he is ok with this. Not sure I am.

I’m not familiar with the interaction of these meds on the test that you are going to undergo. However, you might be able to get a better understanding by speaking to one of the cardiac nurses at BHF. I have attached their number below.
