Erratic heart beat

Good morning all, I am due to have an angiogram on Friday, I am praying its not cancelled again..I haven't been diagnosed yet but have been prescribed Atorvastatin 4mg, Aspirin 75mg and a Gtn spray. Last week had a really scarey time with chest pains and erratic heart beat so was taken to A & E . After being there for 16 hours I was sent home with Bisoprolol 2.5mg. I have been taking them for over a week now but my heart rate is all over the place whether sitting or moving around. I'm also concerned as I have Bronchiectasis and use puffers but Dr Google says Bisoprolol and ventolin is not advised. I phoned the hospital heart centre on Friday and left a message but no response so I phoned doctors and he said carry on taking as prescribed and talk to the cardiologist on Friday ?

Hello ;-)

I take an inhaler as well as Bisoprolol the last couple of years and had no problems

I really hope that the appointment is not cancelled and you can get that angiogram done

Please let us know how you get on :-) x

One thing I really really hate is when you have psyched yourself up to do something like an angiogram and then at the last minute told no it's not happening!

Take what Google says with a grain of salt!

Don't worry about the angiogram. I had one a few months ago. You just lie back, think of something else and let the medics get on with it. They put ECG stickers on your chest, insert a tiny tube into your wrist and off they go. The scanner above you is constantly being moved back and forth.

I barely felt the little incision and tube going in. There was a sensation of pressure on the arm - a bit uncomfortable. I also remember a mild ache in the chest during the procedure. All complete in about 20 minutes.

Compared to other procedures that I have undergone (colonoscopy, stomach endoscopy, bladder catheter) I would rate it as the least unpleasant. It was a long day waiting my turn and then sitting for several hours afterwards to allow the wrist wound to heal.

I'm going back soon to get a stent and am not bothered about it at all.

Aww ty Bizzy, I must admit as the day gets nearer I get a bit panicky 😱 but then I remind myself how fortunate I am to live in a country where treatment is available. Your very kind to take the time to reply. I will lie back and think of sun, sea and sand...and hope I can get travel ins in the future 🤭 I hope all goes well for you x
