Hi SJX130
Firstly, I’m sorry to hear about your bypass however, I hope recovery is going well.
This is an extremely popular question. If you type in “travel insurance” in the search bar above this forum, any posts relating to this will come up and the suggestions people have made in the past.
I am personally with Staysure as I find that they cover a variety of heart conditions which are sometimes complex in nature.
Hope others come along with their suggestions soon.
All the best.

Hi
From my experience the there are few things to consider.
1. If have ongoing treatments or appointments it may be problem.
2. Get a medical report from your GP
3. There are many travel insurance companies but I felt it would be better go with a company which would support you in time of emergency. I decided to go with Allclear.
4 mention all your medical conditions
Good luck
We are all different and so are insurance providers let alone the length of cover and where you are going, so I suggest you do a search for 'travel insurance with pre-existing medical conditions' and take it from there. But if you have any treatment or investigations planned that may well limit your choice since some providers may decline to cover you. Or you could try a local insurance broker.
Avanti excellent
hi, I reviewed a number of insurance options but AllClear travel insurance was most favourable for me. It offered lots of options on the value of cover, cancellation, worldwide or Europe , etc and the excess value. It was very simple to do on line. Hope this helps. Happy holidays!
For me earlier this year I chose Avanti, easy to arrange and good competitive insurance.
Hi
I used insurefor.com for one trip starting and ending in the UK and Columbus Direct for a trip starting and ending in Cyprus. The first trip was 4 months post double bypass and the other 12 months post Op. I declared my conditions to both, the Cyprus premium was the higher of the two.
Hi my wife and I both have heart problems. I found that the Nationwide Flex Plus account was best by far. It comes with travel insurance , car breakdown cover and mobile phone insurance. The account costs £13 per month. We had to pay an extra premium to cover our existing conditions on the travel insurance but it was under £500 per annum for Worldwide cover, including cruises and winter sports. I was with Staysure before but they were very expensive and limited cover.
I have had travel cover for me and my Wife for a number of years with the Nationwide FlexPlus Account. I was recently diagnosed with angina and duly informed Nationwide Insurance. Although they have continued to provide Travel Insurance, they have specifically excluded any cover for angina which (almost) renders the insurance useless. I have had to take out separate full Travel Insurance at additional cost.
I also have NW Flex Plus account cover jointly with my wife. Whereas they will insure me for my medical conditions, one of which is heart related, the additional premium they require compared to other providers makes it uneconomic to take it up, so I have to go elsewhere for the medical cover.
Good morning. I use a website called Medical Travel Compared.co.uk. They are a comparison site who deal with all Medical issues and find quotes from leading insurers.
I have cover for me and my wife with Sainsbury's Bank. It was cheaper than anything else comparable that my wife could find. However, everyone is unique when it comes to getting insurance with medical problems.
Hi. Hope that you are feeling well following your bypass procedure
For the past few years, Alpha Travel Insurance has provided with the best deal than the others.
Take care
