I hope someone can help, my husband is waiting on an appointment at cardiology as his ecg showed that his heart was skipping some beats, and the doctor said it could be angina perhaps and is now waiting on an appointment at Forth Valley hospital which is going to take around 3 weeks to get one. We are going to Spain in September for 3 weeks and we cannot get travel insurance as he is waiting on investigation, does anyone know any travel insurers who would give cover under those circumstances, any help would be appreciated

Travel Insurance
Sorry but no. Basically anyone under investigation or awaiting a procedure is uninsurable, as is anyone in the immediate aftermath of an event or procedure. Could you maybe delay until the spring?
How is your own situation by the way?
Thank you for your reply, our flights and accommodation are booked. I have contacted the hospital and they are going to si what they can do to chase it up. My husband was just under a lot of stress because of my heart attack in Spain. I am doing well now, finished my cardiac rehab and back at my Zumba class, thank you for asking .
All clear travel insurance might do it. Obviously expensive but might be worth trying.
Thank you, it turns out that the locum doctor reported that my husband had chest pains, couldn't walk more than 200 MTRS. All wrong he went with muscle ache in his arms, slightly breathless, and tired, all due to long covid. Now he has to tell his own doctor that being referred to the angina clinic is wrong and to try and have it removed from his record !
Are you already insured? I had a holiday booked and as I became unwell after taking the policy out they covered me until it expired
I had a similar experience some years ago and was told that 'we can not cover for a condition, when we don't know what it is you have'. Sorry I know this isn't the answer you wanted. Hope it all turns out well.
You can apply for a UK global health card via the uk.gov site. It gives you coverage for medical care at public hospitals for reduced cost or sometimes free in participating countries in Europe including Spain. . Details are on the site.
Have you asked the GP if it is okay to travel? I think that should be the first priority.I had to cancel a trip to Australia in 2017 while undergoing an investigation, I ended up having a bypass .
If you don't already have insurance then try and see if some of these things can be moved or they can give you a voucher.
Personally I wouldn't risk it and want to remain home until the investigation is complete.
I hope you find a way to satisfactorily sort out the issue.
Hi , I have AF and waiting for a procedure. Allclear insured me for a recent trip to Europe. Try them and good luck .
Thank you I tried All Clear and it worked, they covered both my husband and I 😊
Did you do this on line or did you speak to them in person? The reason I ask is that I worry that the full picture isn't seen when it is done on line.
I have read on several different sites that travel insurance will not cover you if you are waiting for test results or you are having exploratory work done.
I would always want to speak to a human to clarify cover.
i can't help it, insurance is something I worry about.
Hi I tried it online with AllClear but then spoke to a person . I went through everything in detail as I wanted to be absolutely sure I was covered.
I spoke to All Clear on the phone and told them my concerns of everything that is current. I explained that I had to be sure that I had the proper cover, I was told that my husband and I would both be covered and also the ongoing tests were included, I phoned back once I received the documents by email, and was assured that everything was covered. My husband has an appointment with his own doctor on Thursday (tomorrow) to double check everything that is on his record, but like you we must be sure that everything is covered, thank you for your reply.
