Hi I'm 51 and recently diagnosed with angina. My usual insurance company is refusing to cover me so I'm looking for recommendations please? Thanks

Try All Clear Insurance. They did a good deal for me.

That's interesting....we usually go to France........but they have just quoted me (us) £78 for a week in Scotland??!! seems expensive?

If you Bank with Barclays, try their Travel Pack.

I have just renewed mine with staysure, really competitive price. I have recently developed angina, have 2 blocked arteries and a pacemaker.

Hi WIgranny, I am a fit 75 and waiting for a heart valve op.for a congenital heart condition and have just obtained travel insurance from Saga. This will cover me if I have any related problems while I am away. I did shop around and some companies would not give me cover. Hope this helps.

I had cardiac arrest in September 18 and our insurance would not cover us. My wife had a TIA in Feb 18

Try Staysure but shop around. Also the discounts offered are normally only off the base insurance cost and not the medical excess - read the small print. Good luck

Thanks for all the replies, I'm going to phone all clear on Mon, tried saga online and they wanted£400+ 😲. Also having issues as still waiting an echo! Probably should have thought about insurance before booking holiday but didn't realise there'd be a problem as they cover OH with his hypertension and high cholesterol with no issues!

Hi I'm in the same boat. I too have angina but previously with a zero calcium score, and no sign of blockage. Still get angina pain and now waiting for another CardioCT scan on the 29th.

Like you I booked a holiday for Sept not expecting such a problem with insurance. I've done on line quotes with all the insurance companies mentioned, nobody will give annual cover and quoting me 15 day cover between £350 and £1200 !!!! I think part of the issue is when the illness is still under investigation, so I'm going to try again after my scan results. Let us know how you get on 😊

I joined a local WI group, then insured with their group travel insurance company Open Travel. They don't ask medical questions.

If you are in the W.I. they have a group insurance that runs November yo November for £195 worldwide cover. You don't have to declare pre existing conditions you have to not be terminally ill or advised by doctor not to travel. Think the company is Open Travel insurance
