So prior to my last post, I thought I’d share my decision to get a private MRI done. The chest heaviness has turned into severe chest pain and I can’t even make it to the doctors even if I wanted to.
I’ve showered twice this week and brushed my teeth 5 times.
I need to find out what’s happening myself because I’m being failed by a medical system that’s overworked and has lost interest in the medically vulnerable. Even if it means plunging myself into debt. Fine. Least I’ll be a step closer to finding out what’s happening.
(currently taking 600mg of aspirin and 30mg of co-codamol a day as this is all I have access to right now. As well as gabapentin and Bisoprolol for my heart).
EDIT: I’m just ranting here. I’ve gone to A&E in March and they found nothing. I don’t care if this post gets hidden but the hospital is a dangerous place for me right now. The exertion of getting there has had an effect on my body and will do for weeks. I’ve had the tests done and I’m not in an “emergency” state so they let me go. And COVID… please ask you’re immunocompromised friends that going to hospital can be dangerous and have a worse outcome. (And research the figures on how Black people are treated in A&E. How many Black people have died asking for help in A&E? People who have been treated like criminals when they’ve been in pain - in the UK mind you).
Thank you for the support. I’m just talking here❤️ And I love hearing from you

I am so sorry you feel let down and from your post I can understand why
I know this might not get you anywhere but just because you have been dismissed if any chest pain is getting worse you really need to phone 111 or even 999 as it needs checking out even if you get the same answers it is better to be safe
It has come to something if you have to use your savings to find out what is wrong but if it gets you the answers you so need it will be money well spent
the nhs is really stretched out and it is not providing adequate care. There have been millions of deaths that have been attributed to the lack of funding, the lack of space. Research RCEM’s findings.
And as a BLACK person, who do you think they’re the first at denying? I’ve already been to A&E and it’s been nothing so what’s next? Do I keep going and exhaust myself even more? Do I risk catching COVID (30% of COVID infections have been from hospitals) and become even more disabled, get ignored even more? Reduce my quality of life even more?
I’m monologuing a bit but I’ve already done all of this, people aren’t listening.
