I’ve reached my 69th birthday today. I had my heart attack on my 68th. Over the last 12 months I’ve become so self absorbed and at times very miserable. I’m determined to be more the old me.

Thanks everyone. I have no special plans which is typical me. I’m glad I’m back lol. My husband and I have always been spontaneous about everything that’s why this last year has been difficult for us. Today I feel great and glad to be here. I’m helping a neighbour with his bills this morning then the world’s my oyster.

I remember the “old me” needed a triple bypass at 71 😂 so I’ve changed up a few things, but I know what you mean and it makes perfect sense!

onwards and upwards girl. iv also got a birthday today. it’s my 2nd year and what a journey we’ve been on. i’m still on my journey unfortunately but getting more like the old me every day. i personally think you should have a fruit tart to celebrate this special milestone. that’s what i intend to do🤣many congrats and have a great day❤️shiona

Birthday birthday, or anniversary of your heart? Either way, I hope you enjoy that celebratory fruit tart (hmmm, I'm not enjoying any anniversary but I think I've the makings of fruit tarts in my kitchen. Off to heat the oven! )

Happy Birthday 🎂 I completely understand your comment of being self absorbed and at times very miserable, it got me like that too in the early days after my trip to hospital, but all things pass and the most important thing is we're all still here.

Happy Birthday! Ive got # 67 coming up soon.

Ive not had a heart attack but was diagnosed with a fib over 4 yr ago. I was the same, anxiety and depression entered my life. I believe when our hearts fail us, it is a process to trust them. I liken it to having engine trouble, getting it fixed and then leaving on a cross country trip. You dont really trust the engine until you reach your destination safely💜. Time helps. I thank my heart every night when I go to bed and ask God to keep it healthy as I sleep. I like to say our heart listens to every thing our minds say.

Well done Birthday girl, like myself you too have come out of that dark tunnel and into the light. Plan loads of things to do, things you never thought you would do again, buy new shoes, drink some wine, eat chocolate and have loads of fun! Take care. Sue.
