Dear seantemp1958
Welcome t the minefield that is travel insurance, sorry to say it really is a case of phoning around as we are all individuals with different needs.
A letter helps from your Dr/heart team releasing you as fit to travel and just make sure you tell the insurance company EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING.
Good luck, and I hope when it comes that you enjoy that magnificent Canary sun and life style to help boost your recovery.
travel safe { and well insured }
Take care
Hi. I’ve gone with staysure who were quite expensive but comparable with other companies. As soon as you mention heart problems it invariably becomes expensive but it’s better to have decent cover. I will only know how good they are if I have to use them though. Other companies who insure people with heart problems are Navigator and Allclear. I’m sure other people will be along shortly to give more recommendations.
Try Avanti I have heart failure and a CRT-D implant they where very reasonable.
I use the Co-op bank travel insurance have had no problem with them but every case is different but worth giving them a try
We are in Maderia at the moment, covered with Staysure, it was amazing to draw the curtains this morning and take in the splendid view.
Thanks for your reply what a beautiful view after some research have decided on Avanti who were very competitive and provided the cover I required.
Many years ago my twin brother was taken seriously ill whilst on holiday....he spent several weeks in hospital whilst overseas and needed a medically assisted flight home with an ambulance waiting for him as he arrived home....he was with Staysure who looked after him and his wife incredibly well. ...I've used them ever since.
