OT - A Day for Contemplation

Today marks ten years since one of my best friends (and you can count them on one hand) died suddenly and unexpectedly from an (alleged) heart attack. He had collapsed two days earlier on the Saturday morning. The hospital made him comfortable but did little more till sepsis was diagnosed on the Monday. He died the same afternoon. We all believe he died from a heart attack caused by sepsis. So cause of death was really sepsis.

Not 100%. I have further surgery on my stump next month to try and sort out this wound.

So sorry to read about another operation. Have my fingers crossed that this sorts out the problem.Best wishes Pauline

10 years is no time at all. I’m so sorry for your loss. The grieving process is made worse when there is still a question about the cause of death.

I hope you can pass the day in lovely thoughts about your past friendship.

Regards

Maisie

I think the fact it was on Valentines Day emphasises things especially for his widow.

His Spirit is still with you MichaelJH

Anniversaries do bring us up short and, as you write Michael, is a time of personal reflection. I hope you can recall and reflect on the good times you now doubt had with your friend. Best wishes, John

Thinking of you MichaelJH. Take care, Judi

Thinking of you as your heart remembers your lost friend. 10 hours, 10 days, 10 years is nothing for the loss of a loved one.

The more we love the harder it is, especially if there is still questions over that loss.

my heart is full of my past loves and after my operation I can hear them better.

Take care MichaelJH you have helped many on here, I hope my words can give you some comfort on this trigger day for your friend.

Hi Michael, special dates trigger afresh the pain of the loss of someone dear to us, and when such a shock, and the queries about the real cause of death makes it even harder I think. What are the special memories you love to recall? Holidays? Did you have motor bikes? Good nights out?

I’ve been widowed eight years now, have just had sitting room redecorated, different carpet, and furniture, we’d had it 25 years!! It’s nice, but he’s just not here to see it! Yes the missing goes on.

So sorry to hear you are having to face hospital again and further surgery to your stump. Am I right in assuming you cannot wear your prosthetic, so will be on crutches once again! Is it R or L leg? Wondering if you can drive?

I’ve just had my yearly echo, see consultant in April. Still take Bisoprolol 1.25 at night, have continual fatigue, and have to push myself to do things. Had a TIA last year which was a bit of a shock!

Enough about me, I and others I’m sure, really have and do miss your wit, comments, jokes and really valuable answers to problems Michael. I’m sure you’ve been having a pretty down patch?

So bye for now, keep in touch, and let’s hope coming surgery will be successful, sending best wishes, Marigold x
