This weekend I will be digging out the winter clothes I put away last weekend. What will you be doing?

OT - Jobs for the weekend

Shivering in the cold if I don't do the same as you! It's sunny here in the southwest but the wind is bitter, also the cost of fuel has become scary. My daughter bought me an electric throw blanket for Christmas, haven't used it much but will have to now. I'll be sat like an old fashioned granny with a blanket over my body and head poking out.
Jean
Ha, enjoy doing that.
I never put mine away since I’m always cold. I just increase /decrease layers🥶of clothing . And am sat rocking my fair isle cardi & two hot water bottles.
Oh and bed socks are the best 😁
If the weather stays dry I am going to be picking out the the small weeds from my gravelled area in the garden.
I'll be looking for a fleecy mattress cover. We have a new bed and it's freezing, the mattress doesn't seem to warm up!!
Catching up with the rugby. Sale Sharks v Saracens tonight.
Huddling around a tea light trying to toast a marshmallow. Can only do one at a time so it doesn't block the heat and light from it. Trying to save energy. A good tip........attach a long lead to a garden solar light. Keep the solar panel in the sun and trail the lead through the window to the light attachment. Free light for when the bills soar 😂😂
Hi MichaelJH & The Harties ❤️
Just dashed out today to buy a winter ❄️ dress in the sales to go to a Hen Do tomorrow night.
£20 Gettinn!
My son is getting married next month in Harrogate
Hope it gets warmer by then
Well!! It’s a wedding I didn’t think I’d make so happy days!!
Thank you NHS and BHF
❤️💪🥰
Don't forget the pipe and slippers!
Well I've got the slippers, they're wool lined moccasins. Have never smoked and certainly wouldn't want a pipe. 😂
You’re wise not wanting a pipe, Jean. Years ago my Dad decided he wanted to switch from cigarettes to a pipe. He always smoked when he was driving, so off he went in his little van, with pipe clenched firmly in place, got to the end of the road and nearly swallowed it as it hit the side window when he turned his head to check for traffic…. he gave up on that one whilst he still had teeth😂
You know, those things become quite attractive as you grow older. Like the magazine's for seniors, at one time it would be of no interest, now I look at items in it and think 'what a good idea' .😅
I am planning two shelving units. One at the back of the garage as there are tool boxes, oil, etc. on the floor and my back is not getting any younger. The second is to try and hide my three wheelie bins, two recycling boxes and a waste food caddy.
Hi Michael, I’m getting ready to go to the Spire hospital this morning to get my umbilical hernia fixed. Sadly not NHS as by the time I got to the top of the list I would be too old or departed.🙀
Hope all goes well. Let us know how you are. My husband has inguinal and umbilical hernias that need sorting out!!!! All the best. Jan xxx
Hi Handel, all done, still breathing! I had it done with a local anaesthetic because I only have EF 35% and it was less risky than a full anaesthetic.Went at 10.30am home by 12.45, the Spire is only a mile up the road. The local anaesthetic was considerably cheaper. The surgeon said it was like an iceberg, not much on the surface but a lot going on internally. I was sick afterwards, I always am on morphine, why don’t they believe you when you tell them it always happens?
Feel a lot better this morning but stomach feels like I’ve been kicked by a horse, bruising coming out. I had a lot of permanent internal stitches but the actual 3” scar is superglued, feels very secure, no stitches to pull, no wound to leak. Wish I’d asked how long the superglue lasts, don’t want to suddenly come unstuck, I can shower today as the glue is waterproof, no external wound dressings at all. So far so good. Can’t lift anything heavy for six weeks.
I also have a Hiatus hernia which they say is too risky to operate on as I have Sjögren’s syndrome but I’ve changed to Famotidine from PPI, which has really improved the heart burn and pain.
Good luck to your husband.
Thanks so much for the update. I'm so glad you were in and out in a a couple of hours!! They certainly don't hang about do they!!Your experience will certainly put hubby's mind at rest.
Take care and look after yourself. Lots of love. Jan xxx
Forgot to add, surgeon, during the op asked me if I wanted a inny or outy tummy button. Chose an inny, so got a bit of cosmetic surgery for the price!X
You did make me smile!!! I didn't know you could have a choice!!! You'll be having diamante piercings next!!
Glad everything went to plan and thanks so much for the updates. Really appreciated.
Love and hugs. Jan xxx
Packing for a far-away holiday. After my HA last year making the most of the savings built up over a long working life and sale of business. Can't take it with you !, so we are travelling in comfort to a tropical beach for a few days.
I’m going to get some more paperwork filed and tidied up while I don’t have to keep clearing the kitchen table. Later I’ll go and take dad out for some lunch and hit the road into Aberdeen to visit hubby who had a second stroke nearly 3 weeks ago. The garden and poly tunnel are also somewhere on the agenda!
Knitting bunting for the queens jubilee celebrations in the sun in my conservatory, bright light and free heating. Then some gardening to do in my potting shed, another south facing sun trap.
I need to Cut and split some wood to keep the old fire going. Then hopefully watch some TV but no doubt the cat will be laid on me snoring.!!!!
Packing. Off to Blackpool tomorrow with my little boy. Will make a change going for fun instead of going for the hospital x
I haven't attempted to put winter clothes away yet....it hasn't reached 70degrees!!. I feel the cold so much since the tickers not been working so well..... my aim for the weekend is to be entertained by the gas and electric meters.....great comedy show!!!!

Preparing greenhouse and pots for my tomato and cucumber seedlings. Sowing next lot of sweet peas and feeding my fruit trees.
I have put back on the second pair of socks I wear, that I stopped wearing, since it got so warm.Regards Dee.
I got out my Paramo walking gear, drove to Powys (2hrs 45mins) and did some hill walks. It was a cracking day with everything from sun to snow. Lovely scenery, extremely fresh air (started at minus 2C) and a few pleasant chats with the people that I met along the way. 😀
