Sleeping on back for at least 8 weeks
It's not easy sleeping on your back if you're not used to it. Are you propped up on pillows ? That's often more comfortable than laying flat .
I started in hospitality the bed upright and got o I.At home we bought a recovery sit up memory foam pillow from Amazon to begin with. You slip down a bit but it’s okay. Now pillows and fairly flat
Hi placed a pillow under one shoulder so although still laying on back- I was titled slightly to one side so as a definite side sleeper I felt like I was doing my norm!!!
I had persistent cough keeping me awake at night and bought an adjustable bed headrest off eBay which really helped sleeping on my back. In fact my wife had difficulty sleeping on her back past hip replacement and wished we had purchased it sooner. The cough has now gone after 4 months of trial and error prescribing by GP.
I slept upright on the couch for weeks with a pillow against the wall. I could not feel comfortable on my back. I think it might have been around the 8 week mark where I could actually lay on my side with discomfort, but it felt so good not to be stuck in one position with only a few hours sleep at a time. I swear if I had known, I would have purchased a second hand recliner or rented one.
