3 weeks post op and back in hospital !

Hi all,

Didn’t think I would be back in here again !

I’d been doing so well , getting up and about ; walking, doing small tasks about the house etc Then I was hit with an infection in op wound . After a week on antibiotics I was climbing the walls with pain ! My gp felt a mass on left side of scar and thought it was a collection of pus, yuk ! She phoned the cardio team and they admitted me yesterday. The meds here have greatly helped the pain and docs are probably going to decide today if it needs drained .

A setback I wasn’t anticipating but hopefully when this is cleared I’ll get back on track with my recovery 🤞🏻

Hopefully your recovery proper can begin again soon, and who knows, with a bit of luck you'll be in time for the return face to face cardio rehab!

Best wishes for a swift recovery.

Infections in wounds, whilst not common, are not unheard of either.

The wounds in both my chest and leg (where they harvested the veins for the bypass) were both apparently quite infected - thankfully I was out in a coma whilst it was happening.

I wish you a full and speedy recovery - hopefullu this is your only set back 👍
