Recently diagnosed with paroxysmal AF temporarily being managed by medication until I see a consultant. Going abroad in next few weeks and cannot get insurance cover for my condition. Can anyone help or give me advice on where I can obtain this for 2 week break, thank you

Hello Spain777

I'm afraid that being managed by medication until you see a consultant, will be regarded by the travel insurance industry as medical issue under investigation. As such they are extremely reluctant to offer cover until there is a full diagnosis and plan of treatment, and even at that stage they like to see some time pass between the diagnosis and cover being offered to be satisfied that the condition is stable.

Hi I used good to go insurance, one of the only companies that would give me cancellation cover as I was on the transplant list, a few would give me medical cover (saga) but no cancellation, you can still use you ehic card but I always felt I needed repatriation, and I definitely wouldn't go without cover, I was £224 for a week in Spain, didn't even need it as hol got cancelled, I got £141 back, I had heart failure, dilated cardiomyopathy, severe left ventricular systolic disfunction, icd and osteoporosis

Thanks to you and everyone else, I am currently stuck in a catch 22 situation whilst having my AF managed albeit temporarily with meds and feel fine, I am waiting on a consultant decision on how to proceed going fwd and that's the catch as noone will touch me until full diagnosis despite heart in fine fettle just having paroxysmal AF. Obviously, I could take the risk of a 2 hour flight but we all no about Sods Law! So frustrating and depressing

This subject comes up with monotonous regularity ! It is seems always difficult for insurance companies to insure folks like us

I have been advised to go to Pumping Marvellous which gave me a very reasonable worldwide quote

So you might try them - good luck
