I can’t believe how much everything has gone up. Against a back drop of families feeling financially unstable. Absolutely disgusting.

Prices gone up
Do you have an example of something’s. I have found nothing has gone up in fact the fuel is at its lowest since 2002. Maybe in your area small shops are increasing
Boo Boo just checked the large supermarkets have had no increased prices in the last six weeks.
The offers have all disappeared. My weekly shop is now over 40% more than before the pandemic.

If your 40% more then I would change where I shop.

Something wrong food prices have risen 1.4% in the last five years. I think you should report the shop you use
The price of the dog food I buy has increased by about £10 😳 and delivery is taking over 2 weeks instead of the usual 3 days 😡
I think some things in the supermarkets are more expensive because they’re not supplying you with economy offers eg one single tin of tomatoes 80p instead of a pack if four £2.00, 500g pack of flour 55p instead of 1.5kg pack £1.15 from Sainsbury’s. It’s a form of rationing I suppose which seems ok to me.
That is exactly what's happening. Multi buy deals have been removed at the moment by a lot of supermarkets due to panic buying. As you say its a form of rationing. As I am sure you have noticed things are settling down food wise and availability of products is increasing again. All thanks to the restrictions
Firstly I do not work in retail: I hope you are keeping safe and well.
There are many reasons for some increases in retail. Multibuys, generic promotions etc have been suspended in retail due to the madness of people panic buying and overstocking initially. That has had to happen to try and be fair with everyone and ensure we can all eat and for people to stop overbuying. Most suppliers/retailers had there stock stripped by the unprecedented increase in demand and this means they have had to buy in more stock. Where possible the costs have been held. The cost of fresh chicken, veg, etc has rocketed because we do not produce enough of our own in the UK. The cost to get stock in is higher than it was several weeks ago due to restrictions not just here but across the world. There are less people working worldwide. If there had been no madness by the few then the rest of the population would not be paying higher costs. The cost of raw materials for things such as sanitisers etc has also rocketed because there was not enough raw products to make them. To get the right products has taken time and manpower to source and then to produce. I don't believe it is profiteering. There will be some price increases but they have to pass on some if not all of it to stay in business. Hopefully we will all weather this pandemic and be thoughtful of others not just thinking of ourselves.
