RIP My Left Leg - Gone But Remembered Every Day

Today I walked, with the aid of a PPM Air leg and a set of parallel bars, for the first time in 18 months. The total distanced covered, back and forth, was about 40 yards - not that far but a start. What annoys me was that revision surgery was planned for August last year but did not happen until the end of May this year. Hopefully no more setbacks in what has become a very long journey...

That’s really good news, I know if it’s down to sheer determination you will succeed. Sending you very best wishes.

I think stairs are somewhat in the future. Once I get to a certain point they will revise my prosthetic to match my revised stump. Them it is things like a 5cm step working up to stairs. There is also backwards and sideways walking.

Fantastic news, I’m sitting watching the European games on tv,

Michael you need to be on a podium with a gold medal round your neck, for all you’ve gone through, your determination, sticking with it in the dark times too. I’m sure it hasn’t been easy, especially when surgery delayed fro August 2021 till May 2022.

So much to celebrate at our virtual tea party! A good Prosecco for me to share! Marigold

Totally weird. The PPAM Aid leg holds itself on by air pressure so there is some movement as you walk and as there is no knee your gait is like a cowboy from Gunsmoke!
