Boris’s teatime catch up

I must confess I find the teatime conference’s very helpful in quelling my anxiety over this dreadful period we all find ourselves in. I think the balance between the Churchillian ‘Boris’ and Spock 🖖🏿 (Sir Patrick) is just perfect, in engaging us all in this fight.

I do wish some of the reporters would stop the point scoring questions though. For example, asking Boris about his Dad & the pub.

I agree- it’s good to get their daily updates- could do without all the other media around it though!!!

That's even funnier...please...stop. You do realise a lot of us have underlying health issues?

That's so cruel isn't it? I've heard he's a despotic liar who somehow managed to become PM.

If I've got it wrong please enlighten us to his virtues?

My problem with these ‘catch-up’ sessions is that they have pushed Pointless off the tv!

Sorry to other forum users I couldn't help but reply. I hate it when people run our country down through the Prime Minister He was elected by a big majority of the voting public.

You didn’t mind defending him by making personal attacks on 2 other forum members “... I thought this was a support group...” said another. Apparently only if you agree with their politics in some members minds...

Yes it is a support group not a political debating society. I would like to point out I responded to a clearly political remark just like I am now !! I am sorry you thought asking a straight forward question was a personal attack, you need to grow a little thicker skin !!

“And what have you done for your country?” Isn’t that what you asked me? I suppose if you haven’t got a problem with Boris Johnson then I suppose it’s possible you can’t tell when a question can be a personal attack. What have I done for my country. Well in my own small way I think I contributed. Worked till I was 71 last year paying lots of taxes and I could go on but the most important thing is (as the other forum member said) I NEVER TOLD DAMAGING LIES TO IT.

I was far from a Boris fan but i too feel the afternoon conferences are very helpful. Boris may often have been a buffoon in past times BUT he is doing the very best thing he can in these times in following the science. I would always trust scientists over politicians. The weak link in their plan is Joe Public, I've been horrified so far by some of my friends comments eg "its all scaremongering" or "no ones telling me what to do" some of my vulnerable friends are even working when they don't financially have to. In general these aren't people that are watching the conferences and i am doing my best to persuade them it might be a good idea! Keep washing those hands and stay safe everyone x

Likewise, I'm no Boris fan but no other PM would be doing anything very differently. He is taking and following scientific advice. I'm actually surprised by how much action is being taken by a conservative government with the known impact on the economy. The economy being thier mantra and priority. I too think the daily press conference is a good idea and source of information. While this is clearly a very serious situation I do feel many journalists are going too far and wiping up fear. As for Boris seeming to be 'out of his depth' well who wouldn't be!

I agree and I think by the experts addressing the public directly, everyone is fully informed and subsequently, singing from the same hymn sheet.

Agreed. Free satirical humour at prime viewing time. What’s not to love?
