Are you feeling ok now? If so a visit to your GP might be better.

Was it like any pain you’ve had before?

Hi Marie3811

Please go to see a doctor urgently today to be reviewed-if it was severe chest pain you should always go to A&E. The sooner you find the cause of the pain the better!

Take care,

Ashleigh

My wife was told that 50% of those who go to hospital with chest pain are told that it is not cardiac related.

seasider18 of course-there will be a proportion of people who present to A&E with chest pain that is not cardiac related, but it is much better to get checked out in the case of severe chest pain. Ashleigh

Did I say otherwise ?

On that occasion my wife had been in pain all day and had two home visits from her GP before he called for an ambulance. One of the paramedics said it was like the pain he had from a duodenal ulcer and I said it was similar to what I had from an ulcer.

They kept her overnight and did all the cardiac tests and discharged her as the pain subsided. She went back to her GP the next week. He poked her in the stomach and she yelped. He said duodenal ulcer. They did an endoscopy and as well as a duodenal ulcer she had 37 gastric ulcers caused by medication she had been given for gout even although she had also taken a PPI.

Agree.

Sometimes it's that one time people don't go that it's the time they should have.

Just glad you got checked out as soon as you could and that all is OK. Don't hesitate to get straight to the hospital (or call 999) if it happens again. Life is too precious!!

Good luck and best wishes xxxx
