Well I’ve been emailed today I’m now being told sometime in the week of 17 th feb I’ll be having my heart op so now time to stress big time 👍😩😩
Date for surgery : Well I’ve been... - British Heart Fou...
Date for surgery
My partner had an angioplasty where they put 2 stent. He had a heart atack and this was for saving his life.He is 28 years old and after the surgery he is feeling very well.So if you have appoitment for this that means it will be much easier, dont worry too much.Just think posivitive, everything will be fine
No stress needed - it’s very bad for you! Practise relaxing, and standing up from a chair without using your arms! Do whatever gentle exercise you can to keep fit before your surgery. Best wishes.
No need to stress, you’ll be fine🙂. The ops are pretty straightforward nowadays and I’m sure you will feel so much better for it. Treat it as a positive experience. Let us know how you get on
It is all pretty routine stuff these days.. What sort of operation is he having?
Please try not to worry, I know easier said than done! Don’t know what surgery your having, I had bypass and Aortic valve replaced, felt so much better after, even while still in intensive care! Just remember they do this everyday.
The very best of luck you will be fine.
If like me you are short of breath, you will feel so much better after they fix your broken heart! My shortness of breath was all but gone as soon as I woke up.
The one thing I would say is do all the rehab, starting with the physios in hospital. Don’t know where you are but do the cardio rehab after you get home, I found it really made a huge difference. As well as getting your stamina back you will have contact with other people who have had the same or similar experiences as you and that really helped my mental state.
Let us know how you go, believe me it will be fine.
I agree with 080311's comments completely. The recovery process is a pain at first but it rapidly gets better and you will have a new lease of active life to look forward to . Get yourself a v shaped pillow to help you sleep and some loose clothes to pull on easily. Nice and easy does it
👍
Just to add to Lanc2's excellent advice (loose clothing) - go for elasticated-waist trousers (joggers two times larger than your usual size), and front-button items.
Also, front-fastening bras (if you wear them) - and surgical lint to pad the fastening and band where those will be against your incision.
