Good luck with it all, you are in my thoughts and prayers, please keep us informed
waiting for the op is by far the worst bit. I had AVR two years ago and was well and truly wound up by it all. But as soon as I walked through the hospital doors the stress and anxiety melted away.
You will encounter knowledgable and brilliant staff to float you through the experience. It isn’t like other hospital visits. The staff are dedicated and trained to deal with heart ops. I found that the catering staff, cleaners, maintenance guys were all capable, let alone the nursing staff. And those surgeons, well amazing doesn’t really cover it.
Best wishes
Sooty

Pleased to hear you have got a date. Best wishes to you and all around you. I hope you are soon on the road to better health.
Hello, we look forward to hearing all about your recovery, We will be thinking of you. Judi
I just had an emergency Type A Aorta repair at Royal Papworth, they were and are superb, cleaners to consultants all wonderful caring people. Good luck and get well soon.
Dont be disappointed if your surgery date gets changed by a day or two mine did when I was at Papworth as they also have to treat emergencies which they cant predict.
Great to hear you are finally on your way. Papworth is a great place and you'll certainly be looked after. Hopefully there won't be a change to your date, but it shouldn't be much longer.
Wishing you al the best,
Gerald
Bestvof luck.
I was transferred to Papworth 3 years ago for a quad bypass op and found the standard of care and the quality of the operation to be outstanding. You could not be in better hands !
just to say you will be safe and have a great recovery, the best heart hospital in the country by far.
Wishing you all the luck in the world (you won't need it!). You'll be back home very soon.
Lots of love. Jan xxxx
Great news, you must be so sick of waiting. Wishing you the very best.
You could not be going anywhere better. I had a triple bypass there earlier this year and my care and treatment was first class. All the staff — the surgeons, doctors, nurses, physios, cleaners, caterers were brilliant! In addition the accommodation is amazing.
You will be very well looked after. All the very best.
Good luck.
Good luck! ❤
Bit late to the show on this one.
I hope you've successfully had your op and are now on the 'ready to come home' stage of recovery.
Thank you to everyone for your good wishes
Op done as planned now the long road to recovery
A bit up and down presently as expected but hopeful of speedy recovery
Love to all
Hello, I had my surgery 10-10-2022 CABG off pump. It was great. First day rough. throat, cold. but it will go by quickly. Like you I was terrified. When I woke up in ICU I had 7 nurses around me trying to get me warm with thing the bear hug that was piped up through the sheet blowing hot air on my body. it was so great!! they were checking my vitals giving me stuff for nausea .. I vomited .. a little but soon that waned. they will get you up moving with help in about 12 hours. I went home 10-14-2022. I dont like my emotions they are out of wack and my husband is suffering from it. the biggest issues i have right now are the boobs. have to keep them from moving and stable since they pull the incision. Bra hurts. incision itches. I went shopping yesterday and i paid for it last night. too much activity. You pray and keep your eyes on Jesus, and He will help you through it. they have come a long way with this procedure. You will feel like moving more but body says UH NO!!! not yet. I hate that.
