All the best for the op and keep us posted.
Good luck, hope it all goes well!
Wanted to say good luck will be thinking of you, everything will be fine, as I have said it’s much worse in our heads than the actual act. Let us know how you go.
the thinking about it is the worst part I found. Now on week 10 of recovery...... best wishes and know it will be fine.
That’s great news! Not long now to getting it over & done with.
I have my CTAngio & TOE echo Thursday.
Things are definitely on the move.
I wish you well... you can do this! X
Best wishes, hope everything goes well
The pre op tests were painless and believe me I am a right wimp and would be complaining if I felt a pin prick. Once tested then just sit tight whilst they settle your case in to a timetable.
Yes they tested me for corona as well as mrsa both on arrival and on departure. As I had mine when corona was rampant, I stayed in hospital between tests and op. But I think its all back to the two separate visits now.
Do let us know how it goes and whether you are open heart or TAVI.
Colin
Open heart Colin. Be weird getting a Covid test. Fingers crossed all OK. Thanks
Covid test is also painless. And its nice to know we are clear at the time. My hospital would have been Basildon which is separated from the main Basildon hospital, and you get your own room, which is good. I had to travel to the West End of London to just about the only open hospital.
My op was second thing on a Saturday. I didnt know a thing about the rest of Saturday and very little about Sunday. Just some weird dreams which I thought were true life. Staff rang the missus for me. In fact the surgeon rang from the operating suit, which was a nice touch. Went to my own room on the Monday. Had a bad night, but thats not typical, taken back to ICU but was sorted in an hour or two.
The anaesthetic is pretty strong so dont expect to make much sense for a few days .
I got no support nor rehab once home. GP was good but everything else closed. Please note that this situation is changing and you should get lots of after care.
Colin
Wishing you all the best.
It is the waiting that is the worst part
You will have a great team looking after you and wanting the best for you.
You also have everyone here on this site wanting the same for you
Take care
Hi Lyndaloo, If you remember, we both had our surgery delayed at the same time in March. Good luck with everything, I've just had a letter saying I can expect to be seen some time around August so mildly jealous that you're getting it over and done with so quickly.
Good luck, I'm envious, I've been waiting for an 'urgent' valve replacement since November.Had a letter a couple of weeks back saying all pre op assessments suspended until further notice. Think I'll still be waiting next year.
It will be over before you know it
Everyone get nervous we would not be normal if we didn’t
You are in the capable hands of your surgeon a his team
You will be in your own room before & after the operation
Just think of how much better you will feel as you begin to recover day
By day .
All the best
Fingers crossed everything goes ahead🤞Hopefully in a couple of week you'll be on your road to recovery 😁 Looking forward to welcoming you to the zipper club❤
Good luck, hope all goes well 🤞
