Uncontrollable Cartoon-Like Shaking

Hi, I had a cardiac arrest on 12th Dec and a Defibrillator Implant fitted on 27th Dec.

The last two evenings (only evenings?) I have suffered bouts of uncontrollable violent shaking. I don't appear to be running a high temperature and otherwise feel well.

Anyone else experiencd this? My poor family are having to endure the heating cranked up high whilst I sit there wearing combo of outdoor clothes including fleece, dressing gown and a throw!

It lasts anything up to two hours and only in an evening🤔

As usual, any comments gratefully received 👍🏻

You should call your GP or 111 ASAP for advice . I would be concerned it could be an infection. It is not always accompanied by fever.

Agree you should get it checked out. In the meantime have you tried eating something when the shaking starts?

Definitely see your GP asap and ask for blood tests. I would also recommend informing the electrophysiologists who performed your recent defibrillator implant.

Is your temperature normal all day? Mine only went above normal in the evening, which is when body temperature peaks. Have you got a digital thermometer ( very cheap and everyone should have one).

Possible rigors should always be checked out.

I used to get this on occasions still do v occasionally in a less severe way. Because of your recent implant important to rule out infection or other connection but mine was/is anxiety based and I have learnt over the years that breathing exercises, in for 7 out for 11 is one example, or mindful meditation or a relaxation mp3 is the best thing.

I don't actusally feel hot or cold and moving about sometimes helps but not always.

Not what you're looking for?
