Hey Everyone

I've noticed in the evenings I get really down and fed up 😭

I've had an okay day, not done anything too stressful and I'm feeling how I felt the other day

No reason for this post

I find some mornings I'm down... usually as I'm home alone and get too much time to think.Rehab for me... the NHS removed the gym bit... so my rehab nurse rings me every 2 weeks for a chat. Not the same as going to a regular exercise session. My talking therapies.. to help with anxiety... applied 3 weeks ago... was assessed over the phone on Monday... yesterday they called to say I was eligible... starts in 8 weeks time! I did reply... I'll either be better myself by then... or a lot worse!

Keep smiling V! Remember... we are still here breathing and typing! Dale x

Those weeks will fly. Good luck with everything around you.

hi. Maybe it’s a bit of fatigue that lowers your mood? You might also have more time in the evenings to mull over things which might also bring you down. You’ve been through a lot and you are probably feeling traumatised and overwhelmed which would be understandable. I wish there was something that I could say to make it better for you now but I think it’s just going to take time. Xxx

I haven't really done much today to be overly tired

after being in hospital you are probably doing more than you realise and you will be mentally exhausted. It’s still early days so you need to be kind to yourself. Xx

When you are well again (and you are getting stronger everyday) you will be so busy in the day that when the evenings come you will be planning and preparing for what you are doing tomorrow. It will come. Hang on in there. It won’t always be like this. Love and prayers.

Thinking of you 💖

My Dear V,

If we don't feel a little low now and then how do we know when we are feeling good?

You are doing so well but having time on your hands does not sit well with you.

Reading your posts { like I do } I personally think that all will settle down once you are back in your routine.

Take care and as others have said, it is important to post how you feel, even if we can't do much, hopefully knowing that we are thinking off you helps.

Good morning. It's not surprising that you get down and fed up in the evenings. You have been up all day and usually have less to occupy your mind. Perhaps use the early evening to write notes about how well you are doing. eg 3 weeks ago I could not..... and today I did...... :) Are you going to the Park Run this weekend? If so it will be nice to see others xx

Yes I just got back from the parkrun. I was on the course this week rather than barcode scanning but it was nice to be cheering on others, but I wanted to join in and run.

Slowly, don't try to run yet!

Hey there..there could be some any reasons why you are feeling low in the eve and others have mentioned some but also remember you have and are going through a lot and it impacts us all in different ways..I certainly am being kinder to.myself as my mood has definitely fluctuated more with my heart issues and the procedures both past and pending and varied energy levels and coming to terms with everything....it is a big deal so please be kind to yourself and reach out. Glad you will be getting some counselling but also think of other things that may help, people you can talk to and spend time with, music, creative or other gentle activities and just things that give you a bit of a boost. Also I often find writing a log can help to see if there are patterns which is often useful insight for you your counsellor and gp. There are loads of organisations these days that can help and give ideas on well-being, mental health stuff too including MIND, samartans and I'm sure BHF must have done some mental health info sheets too, you ..... take care sending you positive thoughts for brighter days ahead!!!;)) xx

yes I feel exactly the same, when everything shutting up and people going home to their friends and family and your alone life sucks , but be positive your young and on your way to a full recovery, lovely caring mum and friends waiting for you at your house and a career to continue you’ll be fine, just enjoy the easy life for a while make the most of it.🤗

I would guess this is quite common V.During the day things seem a bit brighter especially if the sun shines and you can get out in some air.Come evening once dark your indoors and that is a bit light a switch going on.I am exactly the same especially during the night in fact I don't really enjoy going to bed as I'm awake so long.On the plus side I read to take my mind off my worries. You are definitely not alone .

try getting a well-being diary ( not sure of what there really called), were in the morning- every day you write your positive plans, 3 positive things you want to achieve 3 positive words to think over the day. Then you return to it in the evening and write down what sort of day you’ve had and what you’ve achieved. It can help you at the end of the day see the positive’s.

Hi V. It may be tablet side effects but after major heart stuff, it's more likely the brain trying to make sense of everything. Meeting others at rehab will help a lot too. Do you work in a school? (just being nosey - sorry!).

Lots of love and hugs. Jan xxxx

As a teacher, I expect you must be really tired at the end of a day's teaching and record-keeping. Rest, and be more affected by at you've achieved than by what you're planning to do.

Hi V. Wow, I hope those secondary school kids get to listen to your experiences and also have defib training. I used to be a first aid trainer in eduction and taught infants and juniors basic life saving skills and older senior school kids much more, including how to use a defibrillator. Your experiences will make you a hero V. ❤️.

Lots of love and hugs. Jan xxxx

Maybe it’s because the darkness is setting in. Some of us fear the night. I don’t know how to explain it. If I really have to go out I will, and wonder what I’ve been so scared of, because no one bothers me. But it’s that initial courage. I can’t explain. When you’re indoors you’re safe but have this fear of if something happens when it’s so dark outside etc. i don’t know if I make any sense. But this is my evening fear. I live in London where there’s movement all night, it’s like daytime just dark.

Hello :-)

Struggling at the moment V but could never ignore you and it is normal even though not pleasant but we are here for you and roll on that Doctors appointment because I hope they give you the support you need and deserve :-) x
