Hello everyone. I have been on dual blood thinners since the beginning of August and apart from bruising haven't experienced any problems with bleeding. 4 days ago I caught the side of my nose on my fingernail and although it was the tiniest cut it took ages to stop bleeding. Since then I have caught it again and each time it takes ages stop bleeding. It's just in an awkward position and a bit like a paper cut. A few weeks ago I remember reading on here about a topical cream/ointment which can be helpful in this situation. I can't find the posts and was wondering if it rung a bell with anyone??

Blood thinners and tiny cut

Hi HA24, great product available on Amazon for shaving/minor cut called‘‘Proraso’ my husband is also on dual blood thinners and has used this for a shave nick, excellent.
Thank you for sending the link
Years ago you get something called a styptic stick or pencil for minor shaving cuts, when men used to wet shave. Seems the modern equivalent is still available , So try your local pharmacist or somewhere like Superdrug .
Thank you
Thank you for asking the question, I’m to on dual blood thinners and cut myself a couple of weeks ago. Took ages to stop and my poor family thought I’d done something really bad and needed A&E due to what seemed a lot of blood. Me I sat there with my hand above my head, squeezing my finger to stop the bleeding, saying it will stop in a bit 🤣🤣
Good to know there’s something I can use for small cuts. Xx
In my more light hearted moments I say the drugs are like gifts that keep on giving - a new side effect every week 🙂. When I'm not feeling light hearted I wonder if I'll ever get back to feeling fit and well and not worrying about everything tiny thing. Hey ho - hopefully I'll get there in the end.
