It gave me bad headaches too but they did wear off although I then had horrible hallucinations.

that is normal and will settle down after 1-2 weeks

I was on 1.25mg for a couple of months. Just made me more tired. It stopped my hr from racing. I stopped 3 days before an ablation but it was postponed for 3 weeks. I've not restarted the Bisoprolol and my hr is still ok without it.

Can I ask why you are having ablation did you ask for it rather than stay on meds Take carexxx

Hi, I initially didn't want an ablation because my svt episodes were quite rare and for short periods. As time went on they got more frequent. I wasn't on meds at all. I turned down the offer of an ablation. A few months later my svt got much more often, for longer and I couldn't get them to stop as easy. I opted to go on Bisoprolol but I also opted to have an ablation. I didn't want to be on meds all the time. My problem now is that I've been off the meds for 3 weeks with no svt so I'm wondering do I need the ablation. I don't really want to cancel it now though.

Sometimes it is the combination of meds that makes you feel sick but you can always ask to change to different beta blocker. You need to talk it over with your GP. I take mine with porridge which helps to keep the side effects to a minimum but everyone finds different things to try that help them. I know the Bisoporol makes me tired but, for me , not taking it is a risk I am not happy to take, Good luck.

I take it too. Nausea appears to be disappearing now. Still tired some days. Hope the benefits are outweighing the side effects. Hope you will feel better soon.

I’ve been taking Bisoprol for 3 yrs and I find it makes me exhausted. I now take it in the evening which has helped with the exhaustion.

I've been on bisoprololo 2.5 for 5 years. Overall it seems to go a good job, especially since it is probably the minimum dose. I've not experienced nausea or dizziness at any point. Also medicated with warfarin and one blood pressure tablet, losartan 50mg. Main problem is atrial fibrillation.

Hi, I've been on 1.25 mg. Maybe try that and see if you are still ok.

Ask your doctor about taking it at night instead of during the day. Also I found that if I had it after a snack or small meal my tummy was happier.

The feeling should wear off. Hubby had similar sickly feelings on 2.5 but our GP in conjunction with the cardio team, dropped the dose down to 1.25mg. The nausea and feeling weird disappeared!

Good luck to you xxx

Hi, I’ve been on them for a few years, put it up to10mg, did make me feel tired and a bit down at first. My consultant said try and persevere for a little while and feel fine now, took a few months to settle down. Regards

I had one or two side effects which did not wear off. Was advised by a heart nurse to try taking it at tea time. That solved my problem

I didn't suffer your symptoms on bisoprolol but put on weight, was breathless with chest pain during walking exercise and had disrupted sleep. I was also often exhausted. I'm better now I'm only using it as a PIP med. I know that a lot of people experience side effects with this med but there are also a lot who don't suffer too much and become acclimatised it after a few weeks.

I've just been put on 5mg a day. When I take it first thing in the morning it's like walking into a concrete wall. I am almost overcome with tiredness. Lay down for about half an hour and after that I'm up and running (insofar as an 86 year old with a bad back can run!) I hope tha's normal, but I'll speak to my Doc about it.
