Hi My husband, aged 58 had an angiogram on 17th Dec. Put him aspirin, beta blocker and statins. Blood pressure and cholesterol always been good. He was told he needed an Echo and 2 stents and would receive a phone call on 20th Dec. Having not heard anything after a month contacted hospital, who apologised for not calling and that a letter was in the post. Letter received middle of February dated 2nd January!! Still heard nothing so contacted hospital last week - the lady I spoke to said she would chase up Echo and email relevant Dr at St Georges. My question is how long is it acceptable to wait? Husband obviously needs this done as still getting bouts of angina and it is constantly hanging over him.

Would it help to get your GP to request help . I have found that things referred through the gp seem to get into the system faster . Things arranged by the hospital seem to get lost in the ether . I had similar long wait and lost letters when dealing direct with the hospital after an a and e admission . When my gp got involved it speeded up .
All I did was keep calling the person who books patients in for that treatment and pester them every week and I got a cancelled appointment within a month
Just keep calling. Make a nuisance of yourself. And get GP involved. Time to start jumping up and down.
