my husband has had two stents fitted three weeks ago following a mild heart attack. He still feels tied after exercise. Is this normal?

Absolutely normal. Just because a stent is fitted via a catheter it is still a big deal especially after a heart attack.

I have always said to listen to your body and don't push yourself.

Hopefully he'll have an appointment with a cardio nurse soon and he can work out a plan with him or her with regard his fitness and medication.

Yes, absolutely. It’s still very very early days for your husband so he is likely to feel tired.

Hello :-)

I agree with the other replies it is very early days yet and with the meds he will be taking he will get tired

Hopefully he will be invited to Rehab classes when he is ready to start them and things will slowly start to improve

I hope his recovery keeps going well :-) x

probably the meds. Particularly Bisoprolol in my experience

Hi I've just had a stent fitted in my LAD. I'm 50 and fit. It was a shock. Progressing well 3 weeks post procedure. I lucky didn't have a heart attack. Just chest pain .You mentioned Bisoprolol, that's one med I'm not keen on and want to come of it a.s.a.p. my pulse is low at 45 anyway. Are you still taking Bisoprolol?

Cheers

Yes, but it still is the one that I dislike taking the most. On good days you get used to it. On bad days it, or the combo wipe me out. I get periodic bouts of ectopic beats and palpitations, so I don’t think i can stop taking it.

Ok, what dose are you on? I'm only 1.25 mg. I do feel tired in the middle of the day though!!

I get the odd ectopic beats and palpitations but not that bad.

Just glad I had my stent 🙏

Hi, I'm waiting for 3xcabg soon. I'm on bisoprolol 1.25mg. I am recently feeling waaaay tired. Head fog, can't concentrate. Walking just 1 mile, compared to 5-6 before meds, then sit down. Either blockages or meds. It went fatigue big time after biso.. gotta be to do with that. Glad u got ur stent one of mine is 100pct. They gave up and referred. Hoping after op to get off biso.. or bypass to make a big difference.

Hi, hope you get your 3x cabg very soon. When did you find out you had a problem and what were your symptoms? Yes I think it is the Bisoprolol making me tired. I don't think work will appreciate me having a zzzzzzz during work lol

Hi, I got pains 5 years ago. Went to hospital for a stress test. They said no blockages. Gp said looks like hiatus hernia. So living on various concoctions of indigestion pills antihistamines various gastric tests. Up until last Nov/Dec, I got so bad I found i couldn't walk more than 100ft without BAD chest pain , Then with bp of 205/103 they listened to me.got more cardiac related tests and eventually found 4x blockages 2x blockages in one artery 1 of them 100pct .At which they abandoned stents. So, patiently waiting for referrals to come through op is diaries for 4th September. 9 months waiting plus 5 years. Oh still waiting for endoscopy to see my gastric tract 2 years, Somehow don't think ill need it.
