Hi, Newby here. I had a heart attack and 3 stents in July 2018. Now take aspirin and clopidogeral daily but havejust really cracked my head and have a great lump. Should I be worried as on these meds? Really would like to avoid a 12 mile trip to A&E on a Saturday if poss but don’t want to be stupid about it obviously. Any thoughts or advice?

Hello and welcome to the forum! Nobody here on the forum can make that decision for you. I think you should go to A&E to get it checked out. Obviously don't drive yourself till it has been checked out and because you may not be allowed to drive after or kept in. Good luck!

Shortly. My hubby and I are CarEd’s for his 93 year old dad with dementia who lives with us and can’t be left so as soon as we get the carer here we can go 🙂

After a rather convoluted conversation with about 4 different Individuals on the 111 service, who wanted to send an ambulance which I declined but they tried to send one anyway but to be fair they have to err on the side of caution, I arrived at A& E under my my steam with hubby driving. Seen by 2 different nurses and pronounced fit and sent home with a leaflet and instructions to rest. Also to always go to the dr or hospital with a hard head bang. Waiting a while did mean my swelling had reduced which Ithink aided diagnosis but wouldn’t recommend waiting really. Funny having to consider something like this now where as 7months ago I wouldn’t have given it a 2nd thought once it was obvious no concussion had occurred. Thanks 6 Nations, queues were really short compared to normal. Thanks for all your comments and I am glad I have found this forum. Xxx

Good news! Does the leaflet still say to return to hospital immediately if you lose consciousness. The one I got some years ago did!

I had the same worry after walking into the open boot of our car ( it was dark and I’d had no alcohol lol ) I had to wait for a CT scan though, luckily there was no damage. I’m so accident prone my daughter was going to buy me a cycle helmet for everyday use 😅
