Hi I am on both Ticagrelor/Aspirin, I had big problems with Ticagrelor side effects, Breathlessness spasm's gasping for breath, It was driving me nuts, I spoke to my GP & surgeon and my surgeon changed me over to Clopidogrel and the problems stopped, I'm also on a lot of other meds, Atorvastatin, Ramipril, bisoprolol, The only down side of changing to Clopidogrel is I have to take it for 2 years, but when I was on Ticagrelor I was only going to be on for 1 year, I guess its a much stronger med, that could be part of your hubby problem, I suggest a chat to your GP and or surgeon and Heart nurse, I found the local heart nurse very helpful, and some great information at the cardio rehab classes I attended. Oh by the way I had 7 stents in 2 ops. and Im now just getting ready to go back to work, after the best part of 5 months at home

Hi Picasso. I haven’t had these symptoms. The Ticagrelor and Aspirin are an anti-platelect therapy that prevents blood from coagulating so easily. So if you get a cut it can bleed for ages. It helps prevent a (further) heart attack and protects the stent but my understanding (not a medical person) is that it acts differently to drugs like Warfarin.

Personally I’d call the cardiology nurse/Docs. Better safe than sorry. If my experience with shaving cuts is anything to go by it could take a long time to heal up.

Hello. I was on ticagrelor and aspirin. Whilst on both I had issues with blood in urine. The urologist I saw was 99 percent certain it was caused by the ticagrelor. He was right in my case, as It did stop after coming off ticagrelor.
