Has anyone got details of cheap insurance for holiday as quotes costing as much as holiday to spain

Hi, try lnsurancewith. l am going to Spain next week and it is £95.00 for a week. l tried others but this has the best cover and is the cheapest. Hope this helps.

We have used Insurancewith for several years too. Always the best price and very helpful when you ring them for a quote.

HI

I use EHIC PLUS insurance.

As long as you have an EHIC card ,they will cover up to 5 medical conditions.

They do not insure for private treatment but as long as you use the state

medical doctors ,hospital ,etc the EHIC card will cover you.Repatriation

which is the main concern is covered.

Medical costs in Spain are the highest in Europe hence the cost. All Clear are very good, I would try them.

I don't know where you have obtained your information but I suggest that they are probably a lot less then the UK!

The insurers have advised us why travel insurance is more expensive for Spain & I assume they have extensively researched this to come to this conclusion. However, if you know better then thank you for advising us.

It sounds to me like a typical con from the insurance company to charge high premiums. Free medical care in Spain is obtained via the EHIC card which of course will probably stop after next March when the UK is no longer part of the EU.

Not all costs are covered by the card, i. e. Repatriation. I would never suggest that anyone with a heart condition rely solely on this for medical care. However, the poster has asked for recommended insurers so this is going slightly off post, sorry Ennis63. The BHF site does have a list of insurers who cover heart conditions, hope this helps

Hi I have used Staysure. My annual insurance with insure and go leapt from £62 to £870. Staysure was £300 for the year.

I agree, I use Staysure, i buy an annual policy as it works out really well and it encourages me to travel more, I think i pay £150 for the full year.

After being turned down by 42 travel insurance companies I joined a Women's Institute group for £41 & then bought their annual worldwide multitrip group policy with Open Travel for £195. They don't ask medical questions. (If you are a man with a female partner at same address.... She can join & insure you too.
