Hi all, new on here and was looking for advice on travel insurance( to Cyprus) with my pre existing conditions (bypass in 1993, stents, angina, sleep apnoea, etc,) was wondering if anyone has any good companies to recommend as I am finding this a minefield of questions and mega high costs, thanks.

Unfortunately, travel insurance isn't cheap. We got a good quote from All Clear, husband has HF & is currently having regular blood tests.

If you are over 50 and have a partner at the same address over 50......she can join any Womens Institute group for £41 p.a. & immediately then join their group travel insurance policy with Open Travel , who ask no medical questions.. I did that a couple of months ago. Clare

I recently got good cover through all clear with a company called 4MEDICAL TRAVEL INSURANCE.for £98 for single trip (45days,with H.A.and 1 stent about 8 weeks ago,High blood pressure, cholesterol,Osteoarthritis with 2 new knees ,back and neck probs ,and a Kidney stone.)I think thats pretty good.My husband has remained with his bank insurance just paying £20 for extended stay, and they will still cover me for anything else other than the medical mentioned above .Of course, you never really know if the policy is any good untill you make a claim,no matter how much homework you do.Also I found that ALL CLEAR quotes different prices depending where you look.Th e best quote was through TOP CASH BACK SITE,just remember to press the pre-existing medical tab once you get the first quotes ,then you enter your medical details after you choose All Clear.Hope this helps.

Hi Dave,

I have annual cover with Cedar Tree Travel Insurance for £88. This covers me for my pacemaker, under active thyroid, pernicious anaemia and rheumatoid arthritis. Also my husband has high blood pressure. I have premium plus cover which was sourced online with lots of questions but at least they would insure me. I was previously with American Express until I notified them of my pacemaker and they cancelled my insurance. JJ.

How old are you Jay Jay? Our insurence cover is being quoted very high?

Hi Lynny12,

I’m 51, I had no trouble getting insurance online with a lot of questions about my health. Previously I was with American Express and as soon as I mentioned pacemaker they cancelled my insurance. JJ
