If you are unable to eat, sleep or participate in work/school, this is a clear sign that you need a bit of help with coping. Trouble falling asleep or staying asleep is normal during grieving, especially if you lost a spouse, but these need addressing because sleep is vital for health, both mental and physical.

I do have trouble sleeping, terrible horrific nightmares. Probably why I drink. I did stop for awhile but found sleep harder & the nightmares worse. After my daughter died I started sleep walking which was a real worry. Thankfully that’s stopped now.
Eating was a problem. My nephew would come daily & make me soup as I just couldn’t swallow. Now I eat but have no interest in cooking or food but I do both.
