My sister and I were both court appointed deputies for a little under a year and were known to all of her service providers. Such as banks, utilities etc.
We had no problems at all, dealing with her finances - i.e closing accounts etc. Nor did we have any problems closing any of her utilities and opening new accounts in our names. No doubt this was because previously we were deputies.
The only serious task which required professional help was in updating the deeds of our mother's house to add our names because her house was not on the land registry. With the continued assistance of or solicitor, this was just a question of filling out a form and waiting for the desired outcome. The process was trouble free.
No doubt all this was due to the fact that we had been deputies and mum's affairs were extremely simple. Something for which we were grateful. Since i used to look after mum's bills when she was alive and dealt with all of her financial matters, i just carried out the tasks under the watchful gaze of my sister.
Should also say that we had access to all of mums paperwork. So nothing , including the deeds was amiss.
Thank you @Greyone this is really informative.
One question please, what is a deputy? Is it the same as having power of attorney ?

Similar but not identical. In its simplest form, I think when someone agrees to have their affairs managed it is as you say a power of attorney. When done retrospectively, that is when someone lack the ability then you become a deputy.
