It's the strangest Mothers Day ever, but we must mark the occasion as best we can.

The UK mothers day date never bothers me, for so many years my mother was not a part of my life, so I learned to ignore it. Latterly when I was trying to be a friend to her I would celebrate the Spanish Dia de los Madres (mothers day) first Sunday in May, which was also close to her birthday, I would send a flowering plant or something.

The adverts sometimes get to me, same as at Christmas... the world isn't all happy families unfortunately 👎🏼😔

Hi Jo,

I can understand that, I feel the same about these adverts and it's very unfair.

Yes, it's not good at the moment.

Mothers day was hard this year,as I've recently lost my mum.My daughter gave me a card though with beautiful words and mentioned my mum too.I was an emotional wreck .

Hi Sandradsn

It's really very hard at times like Mothers Day, especially when our emotions are raw.

Although it was emotional for you, your daughter was especially thoughtful to include your dear Mum on her Mothers Day card <3

Take care
