What makes you feel good about yourself?

If I achieve something I thought was too difficult I feel a sense of satisfaction, and when I have helped someone, that really makes it all seem worthwhile. It's a big step forward for us here to know that we are ready to help ourselves or someone else.

What about you, what makes you feel good about yourself?

Very little makes me feel good about myself these days. I suppose it’s nice when someone thanks me for something I’ve done for them, or I receive a lovely card.

Yes Claire, I know what you mean but receiving a thank you card means so much xx

It’s lovely when someone has made the effort to send a card. It really makes a difference.

My roof had a small patch of really thick moss on it, so I picked up courage and rang a couple of firms asking for prices and dates etc. .... One roofer left me feeling cross.

The other roofer arrived this morning and at a fraction of the price of the first...... cleared that patch of moss.... Doing a good job.

Yes I am proud of myself, I think my dear late husband would have been.

He taught me well...

Hi Buzzytruk

Good for you! It’s good that you didn’t go into panic mode, and that have kept the knowledge your husband gave you and you got the job done at a good price proving that you’re not an easy target for con men, you should be proud of yourself!

Can I say I feel proud of you, you go for it & fight back whatever the issue you need help with, don’t settle for the crap that life can bring! You go for it girl stand up for yourself in this cold old world where life can be So cruel!! And you are not alone!! Well done for finding the courage in the first place!

You’re stronger than you think, try to remember that if you get a bad or rough day!

Thank you for your very kind words. Back to my story.......

The area I wanted clearing of thick roof moss was about 2sq. yards.

on the north side, sheltered by the chimney.

The first roofer offered to do the job for £230. 😳.

The second roofer offered to do the job for £75...... 👍

Two days later he arrived. Out came a roll of blue plastic which

He covered the front garden with . Then onto the roof to scrape away the moss. He swept the roof of all debris, cleaned the gutter, rolled up the plastic sheet and was done.

Well worth the £75........ Took about 1 hour.

Hi Buzzytruk,

We have that problem continuously in the front and the back and every week it has to be swept up from the floor where the birds have pulled it out looking for worms, it is a real nuisance isn't it?

True it is a nuisance, but bless those birds..... they are saving you

a good few pennies.

Don't forget the little extra exercise is invaluable...... 😉

Jo..... 😊

Ps..... I only had moss removed as looked as if in danger of tiles lifting.

The only trouble is, the birds drop lumps of moss in the gutters. I had to have the gutters cleared as they were full of moss, which the man told me had been dropped by the birds. I love the birds, and encourage their visits to my garden, so I’ll happily pay to have the gutters cleared. 😊

Good for you........ A girl after my own heart.

Hi Chloe, I get a lot of satisfaction from repairing restoring and making things so suddenly something that had had better days is now fully function able.

I find by using my hands and concentrating that I become absorbed in whatever it is.

My home is full of restored furniture as I love old furniture made with real wood and just looking at them makes me feel good as I enjoyed restoring them.

I have an Art Deco radiogram that was electrically unsafe now there's a light making the radio look like it's on and in the cabinet is a down-firing bass sub woofer connected to Spotify and that takes visitors by surprise...

And lastly I love helping others and get a real kick out of that.

Jerry 😊

If I can make someone smile, or laugh, that always makes me feel good. 💕

Doing anything well bolsters self belief and confidence. One of the reasons I changed jobs and began driving trucks was that my confidence hit a new low and deep down I felt surely if I could drive and manoeuvre a big truck well I could control the little things in life too. It kinda worked 👍🏻🤣
