It would have been my mum's birthday tomorrow (29th). I feel her loss more keenly nearly four years on from her passing.

Hello there klr31
This is such a tough time for you Karen {{{hugs}}} it doesn't matter how much time has passed, it still hurts. We try to come to a place of acceptance in our hearts but birthdays, anniversaries and major events sting even more.
Maybe, you would benefit from bereavement counselling, something to think about at some point perhaps.
Sending you {{{support & love}}} to get you through tomorrow and the coming months.

I have had some bereavement counselling from Cruse. I've had a lot on over the past few years with my dad who is now in a nursing home. I felt my mum around me more in the early days but, as time has gone on, she seems more remote which is difficult to deal with.

Hello klr31
I'm pleased you have been to Cruse and sorry to read that you have had difficulties with your Dad. The fact that he is now in a nursing home must also be stressful for you and contributing to your present feelings. This doesn't help you right now but it is natural that strong feelings of your Mums presence will gradually lessen.
We are here for you if you want to discuss anything Karen, please remember that and our thoughts are with you today specially x
