I used to get cracks from dry skin but the products I use now keep things at bay most of the time. There are lots of things you can do to ease this re laundry, skin products, specialists etc but you may do them already so no point posting info you don't need it.
I get dry skin generally all the time, particularly my hands. I put this down to all the meds I take as before I used to have really soft skin even though I was did a manual job!
I tend to use cocoa butter (not sure it helps but it smells lovely) lol
Deep sigh. Yes, same as. I don't use anything specific, just whatever I happen to have around. That hand cream used by Swedish fishermen (can't remember the name!) is very good. K bought me some Bio-Oil but I'm not convinced. Sudocrem is wonderful for everything and when it's really bad I wash with emulsifying cream from the pharmacist.
I think some of the info in these threads might be of interest to you
Cracks at the ends of fingers isn't something only bd suffers get, there chats, very painful, all you can do is keep hands really well moisturised. The joys of bd though.
You could try a combination of Evening Promrose, Fish Oils and Vitamin E. I only buy the cheep ones from supermarket but find my skin does really respond to this.
It won't solve it immediately but notice the difference when I don't take them and they are also good for other things such as menstrual problems, heart protective etc.
Yes I have psoriasis or eczema, skin guy still doesnt know for sure. During a flare up, which I still find difficult to decipher as I am in pain all the time with naughty joints, my skin seems to be very very dry and scaly. I use Dipro base cream at the start and that seems to help. Hope this info helps you.
Blessings. Yaz
Dipbrobase is available on prescription in the UK - it may be cheaper than buying it but do check. More about this and other ways to help your skin here: behcetsuk.healthunlocked.co...
I suffer from occasional bouts of psoriasis which often effects my fingers. Two of my fingernails are not completely attached because of it. I sleep covering my hands with a rich in cocoa butter hand cream by L'Occitane, and cotton gloves. The cream is quite expensive, but you only need a little, and in the summer, the added advantage is that you don't scratch your mozzie bites.... you see there is always a silver lining!!!!!
