I have been in the middle of a flare for about 3 months. One new symptom seems to be gum and tooth sensitivity along with a handful of mouth sores. I am used to the sores. The tooth sensitivity is new and agonizing. Does anyone have any experience with this symptom? I am headed to the dentist tomorrow and a bit fearful that it is going to be tortuous.

Tooth Sensitivty. New symptom?
Hi Elamee
I too experience this gum and tooth sensitivity on and off and the areas change which is very strange, each time the sensitivity is always down to a flare, I have found using soluble prednisolone mouthwash (I am to spit out) is helpful and shortens the length of time the sensitivity goes on.
My dentist said everything was fine with my gums and teeth and said he believed it was a flare.
The other sensation I am aware of is the feeling my mouth is sore, especially the front roof of my pallet near my teeth, the sides and front of my tongue which do tend to be a sign of a flare starting. I liken this to having burnt my mouth with hot soup, which obviously is not the case.
Hope you can get some help and I would be very interested in what your dentist says about this, perhaps they will have some helpful advice you could share.

Yes I have had trouble with tooth & gum sensitivity for about 2 yrs now. I've been diagnosed with facial neuropathy because of the pain. There's really not much anyone could tell me to do for it. I had a period of a few months without pain but it is flaring up again.
Hope you find some relief!
Yes before I have mouth ulcers my teeth ache and roof of mouth feels very nervy. (Like little shock waves) chewing is difficult and usually just my upper teeth that hurt.
I also have facial neuropathy. I’ve even tried a session with a therapist that did oral mouth massages, hurt like a son of a gun and little relief.
