Rituximab and B/C Cells

Some time ago - I think it was September last year, I had two Rituximab infusions but unfortunately if anything my symptoms have been getting worse. I have been having regular blood tests and apparently my B cells are still depleted. My neurologist made the comment earlier this week that in one way it is proving a point - that the B cells aren’t the culprit and now they are looking at C Cells (I’m not sure which ones). Lesley

I worsened on rituxan as well. To be fair I was already trending downwards. Interesting info on the B cells!

I've just realized that should have been CD52 - it’s hard to remember everything as you get out of the consulting room.

This was on Wikipedia under Alemtuzumab Biochemical Properties:

Alemtuzumab is a recombinant DNA-derived humanized IgG1 kappa monoclonal antibody that is directed against the cell surface glycoprotein CD52. (I'd actually thought he said C54 but now it makes more sense).
