Yes I do, last time it happened I went to the eye hospital, there was some inflammation of my optic nerve, since I started methotrexate I haven't had a further flare up.

Thank you I think a visit to the eye doctor for me may be a good idea x

Now you mention it I know what you mean. If I was you I would get to see an ophthalmologist at the hospital - not an optitian.

Yes! I'm so glad you mentioned this I thought I was going mad. I have seen ophthophthalmologists and they find nothing is wrong. I also get a sensation which feels like a headache behind the eye.

Yes I have that too.the opthamologist says they can't find anything to worry about but I may have cataracts coming and I have a birth mark behind the eye which they will monitor xx

Same here.. I was getting headache behind the eye quite often a few months ago. I also get similar to bruise feeling, but not when I move it. At times, when I touch or something brushes eye area it feels like a bruise was touched. I don't get this often.

Yes, I've experienced behind the eye pain and swelling for about 6 years now. It comes and goes. The first time it happened was the worst. I've seen several eye doctors none of which could find anything wrong with my eye! They were looking for anterior uveitis (inflamed blood vessels in my eye) which was not the case. However, there is also such a thing as posterior uveitis which none of them seemed interested in.. Long story short, when I had my first MRI several brain lesions were detected together with inflammation of the optic nerve behind my swollen painful eye. So I figured Behcet's was responsible for it. It responds well to colchicine and anti inflamatories but if it wasn't I would have had to take stronger medication as it can lead to blindness if left untreated.

Hi thanks for you're reply.they say they can never find anything with mine just a birth mark behind the eye. But I have had two brain scans due to neurological complications and they found lesions on the optical part of the brain and the following scan showed even more lesions.i do worry about my sight but they don't really do anything just keep taking the treatment in already on and steroids if I'm having a really bad flair xxxx

Yes I know what you mean about the eye pain .

I have taken it to mean that I must be more careful with food, and that has helped but I had it a lot before keeping a food diary a few years ago.
