Behcets specialist south of Ireland?

Hi I am 41 ye old female w behcets. Lots of random problems my gp can't help with on top of ulcers and uveitis. I would love to know if there is a specialist in cork or near cork I could see who has a good understanding of behcets? I'm really feeling awful even though on 15 mg methotrexate

Try a rheumatogist. You should probably be on a biologic or something like Imuran.

Thanks I tried immuran first. Made me very sick. Had to come off it. It can cause pancreatitis and I have concerns my condition has pancreatic involvement too. So when vomiting started I was moved to metho. Thinking of asking about interferon did you see study from dec 2014? Looks like it's good for behcets

Have you been formally diagnosed? They're really good in Beaumont hospital in Dublin. Maybe try the immunology dept there and they might be able to give you a name of a consultant who practices out of cork. I was diagnosed with neuro bechets there (I'm living in dublin but from cork). I found their standard of care to be excellent. So hopefully they can point you in right direction. Even the best GP isn't specialist enough to deal with it. Wishing you the best.
