I read on here a year or so ago that there is a specialist in East Australia (I think) that has traveled to Turkey to learn more about Behcets.
Does anyone know the name of this specialist please?

I don't know about that particular specialist. Where are you in Australia? There is a rheumatologist in Melbourne who certainly knows about Behcet's. Her name is Dr Mandana Nikpour and her private practice is at St Vincent's hospital in Fitzroy.
I hope this helps.
Hi Lisl,
I'm in WA. Can't find one here.
This Dr may be the one your are looking for....Dr Talib Tahir 2/240 Sydney Road Coburg Vic.
"Coburg Rheumatology Service" ...believe he has lot of Behcet patients. I have been to see him twice this year.... Has written papers on subject and did his training in Turkey.
I see an immunologist at greenslopes private hospital in Brisbane. He isn't an expert in behcets but diagnosed me and treats me for the condition. Name is Dr Carl Kennedy.
I also have a great eye doctor. Dr Diane Conrad at the Wesley.
Hope that helps.
This is probably a bit late but I am seeing doctors at RPA hospital in Sydney. They are studying Behcet's Disease and have a few patients. I have a great neurologist (expensive) but he is well worth a trip across from Perth if you need that type of help. Message me if you would like any details. If you do see that guy in Melbourne I would love to know how you get on. By the way I live just past Wollongong.
Hi Lesley, My daughter has been seeing a rheumatologist here in NZ but has not definitely diagnosed her as having Behçets. We are going to see an immunologist but if we still do not get a definitive diagnosis then we will go to Australia. What is the name of your doctor at RPA Hospital?
Hi Lesley...I am in Wollongong...would love to have the names of the RPA doctors please for my mum...Thanks. Kim.
Hi Kim it depends a lot on how Behçet’s has manifested itself in your Mum - that’s the interesting thing - we are all affected differently. I ended up seeing Dr Roger Garcia immunologist, Dr Patricia Lowe Dermatologist and then several neurologists. The problem I found was that it’s a long way from Dapto and then sometimes it was a very quick visit (especially in Dermatology). In the end I paid privately and ended up seeing some doctors at Macquarie University Hospital (I was very lucky to have kept up my private health cover). I’m currently seeing a rheumatologist (from MUH) with a view to having a bone marrow transplant. Lesley (I’ve left a private message for you)
