Vaginal Ulcers

I've had recent 'flare up' in my BD giving rise to ulcers which are causing me acute

discomfort. Can anyone advise of any ointment to alleviate the pain or should I just keep

the affected area dry (as I'm currently doing....).

Hi, this is very common with BD and there is something that works well. .....A Ventolin Inhaler. You give each area of problem a couple of puffs 4/5 times a day, reducing every few days. Usually stops a flare or stops it getting worse. If you in are the UK you can only get this on prescription. I always have one ready in my medicine box ready for use.

Hope this helps but make sure you are not allergic or anything.

I have had terrible ulcers recently and my gp and I came up with Emla cream usually used to freeze arms before a jag.

Hi Jazzy I was given Emla for the lesions around my fingers - works well. I didn't consider using it down there but will definitely give it a go next time.

Instillagel works really well has to be prescribed by your gp though!

I was given an inhaler on a recent hospital stay and it does work wonders, but if you can't get a prescription yet try good old fashion sudocream x works wonders for me!

I was prescribed instillagel; it's an anaesthetic gel usually used for inserting catheters, but it's wonderfully soothing and you can squidge it on a sanitary pad to keep it in place.
