Wether it be preventitve or during a flare, how does everyone treat ulcers? My rheumo has no good treatments and ZERO preventives (except prednisone). I use lidocaine and pain pills currently to deal with flares and between 5-15mg of prednisone daily to prevent them. I'm so tired of living with pain. I'm seeing a new rheumo in November and want to be able to say, "I've looked into xyz." Thanks in advance.
Hi! I've mentioned this before but I'm in the... - Behçet's UK
Hi! I've mentioned this before but I'm in the USA and noticed different tx's for BD. I'm wondering what sort of tx's are used for ulcers.
I have found that the lidocaine is the only thing that kills the pain (all be it for a very short time). I have tried a sage mouthwash that I have made myself and it helps to soothe a little bit. Nothing that I have tried worked........only pred takes them away
Have you tried colcocine excuse spelling its used to treat gout ,colgout is the cheaper version
I tried it it does work but hard on the bowel so had to give it up might be worth an ask good luck x
I was on colchicine for years, never noticed any type of change. On a side note, an odd thing about colchicine: During conception it significantly slows down the process when the cells divide and theoretically can cause Down's Syndrome. I had an ob/gyn tell me that my unborn baby could have Down's. What a scare! This was more almost 17 years ago, he was perfectly healthy, and a speciality ob told me that although that is true about the medication I was only as much at risk for having any fetal abnormalities as the next gal.
O!!! my God never knew that Thank you won't be offering colchichine as a remedy again ,I have found the older I'm getting the less frequent my ulcer attacks are getting I'm 47 anyone else find this
