Hi! I've mentioned this before but I'm in the USA and noticed different tx's for BD. I'm wondering what sort of tx's are used for ulcers.

Wether it be preventitve or during a flare, how does everyone treat ulcers? My rheumo has no good treatments and ZERO preventives (except prednisone). I use lidocaine and pain pills currently to deal with flares and between 5-15mg of prednisone daily to prevent them. I'm so tired of living with pain. I'm seeing a new rheumo in November and want to be able to say, "I've looked into xyz." Thanks in advance.

I have found that the lidocaine is the only thing that kills the pain (all be it for a very short time). I have tried a sage mouthwash that I have made myself and it helps to soothe a little bit. Nothing that I have tried worked........only pred takes them away :(

I was on colchicine for years, never noticed any type of change. On a side note, an odd thing about colchicine: During conception it significantly slows down the process when the cells divide and theoretically can cause Down's Syndrome. I had an ob/gyn tell me that my unborn baby could have Down's. What a scare! This was more almost 17 years ago, he was perfectly healthy, and a speciality ob told me that although that is true about the medication I was only as much at risk for having any fetal abnormalities as the next gal.

Have you tried spraying Clenil Modulite (Beclometasone dipropionate) 100 mcg directly onto the ulcers. This is the best thing I've found, which was prescribed by my rheumatologist. Thanks for the warning about colchicine. It never did much anyhow
