hi... iv had a pale yellow discharge with a slight fish odour coming out

and now im on my period they are more red than usual and there is a strange smell a bit like poo or unpleasent smell coming out... what do you think this could be?

hey, I had that a really grim smell all the time and a weird discharge too... it could be nothing so dont freak out too much but i would advise you phone your doctors it takes like half an hour if you make an appointment at a health clinic! better safe then sorry! i know its scary

Dear nikki2boys,

Sounds like it could be Bacterial Vaginosis (BV). This is a harmless 'imbalance' of some of the bacteria in the vagina. It commonly causes a smelly discharge. It can be triggered by your period, or by using to much soap/shower gel around your vagina or even bubble bath.

It will often settle on it's own, but your GP or a Sexual Health / GUM clinic can do a swab to have a look and then give some antibiotics to settle it down.

Thanks thegreenhouse it may be this but had bv years ago and its not like that its not red and sore or anything... just they smelly stuff. gunna go and get it checked out to be sure.. again thank you.
