IUD (coil) disturbs during intercourse!

Hello there! I gave birth about 3 months ago. During the c section, doctor fitted an IUD inside my womb. But the problem is the cable! A yarn-like hard cable placed inside the vagina which disturbs me always. Specially during intercourse. My partner feels pain from it. Is there any solutions or suggestions for me. I want to get rid of it. Thanks all in advance.

You should be able to get the strings cut shorter if you speak to your GP, I had a check up on mine a few weeks after it was inserted to make sure the strings weren't too long. If you want it removed your GP surgery should also be able to offer you an appointment to have it removed also or you can speak to a sex health clinic who might be able to get you booked in quicker.
