IUD mirena coil fitted extreme pain

Hi so I'm hoping someone can reassure me this is normal and will ease in time.

I just had an IUD fitted this morning I had no idea what to expect I figured it was like having a smear test, uncomfortable but not painful. This was not the case for me I found it extremely painful I had to use gas and air to get through it and have been in pain ever since.

It feel like someone is stabbing me in the uterus with a large dagger it comes and goes and is worse when I'm standing or walking but now I'm lying on my sofa and it's just as bad.

I have prescribed codeine 15mg for my fibromyalgia pains so have taken this and it eased the pain earlier in the day but now is not helping at all.

Is it normal to have this much pain after having IUD fitted but will ease tomorrow/next day?

I'm also on my period so could this have agitated the pain more?

I tried both copper and mirena and they both caused me a lot of pain during insertion and whilst in. Unfortunately mine never settled and were removed after a couple of months. I then had the arm implant which has been fine.
