IUD removal

I want to have my copper IUD removed and struggling to find much information about preparation for it. What are the general recommendations? Thanks

If a coil is being removed, please ensure no unprotected sex between last period and coil removal. It is much easier to remove a coil than insert it, as you dont need to do any measuring of the uterine cavity. It is usually relatively easy, bring a pad in case of spotting, and you might experience mild period like cramps.
