BV and Copper IUD

In need of some help/advice! I keep getting bacterial vaginosis and i’m not sure the cause is/what to do. Until the summer i had only previously had sexual contact using a condom as protection. In the summer i met my boyfriend and we did the same until i decided to get the copper iud/coil fitted. After having it fitted it was ok for a month or two but then i got BV. I treated it and it went away however, i have gotten every month/other month and it’s had a toll on my body. I do all the things i’m supposed to and i’m not sure if it’s having semen in me that’s causing this or the introduction of the coil? Do the other coils also hold an increased risk of infection?

Both the IUD and IUS have a slightly increased risk of BV. Presume you had sexual health screening, and your partner also ?
